The AMPS-UGRO Garden in the West End
![]() |
The Applied Mentorship Program for Sustainability Urban Garden Resiliency Oasis (AMPS-UGRO) is a 3/4 acre garden located in the heart of West End Atlanta. Over 50% of the yield will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the space is serving as a living laboratory for west end youth to learn about the importance of sustainable agriculture.
In honor of Liam's memory, AMPS-Atlanta will train a new generation of agtivists committed to providing fresh, healthy food available to all Atlantans, especially modest means communities and communities of color who typically have reduced access to quality produce at affordable prices. If you'd like to visit the garden or volunteer please contact Imran Battla at imran@ampscorps.org
Truly Living Well's Wheat Street Garden
![]() |
TLW's vision is to use quality local food production as a platform to provide a range of educational and entertainment activities. This will return a measure of enjoyment and community involvement to the production and consumption of food.
Since its launch in 2006, Truly Living Well has grown approximately 10,000 pounds of food annually on small plots of donated land within the City of Atlanta. The Company has developed strong support among consumers, institutions and community advocates not only for its vision, but most satisfyingly for the superior quality of its food. Liam had been working with TLW, in collaboration with GA Tech Research Institute, to develop a green energy strategy that will get TLW off the grid.
If you live in Atlanta, you can also support TLW by becoming a member of their CSA program. You'll get 13 weeks of fresh greens, broccoli, cabbage and more: http://www.trulylivingwell.com/subscribe.html
Truly Living Well is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations made to Truly Living well are tax-deductible.
Liam Rattray Memorial Permaculture Scholarship Fund at Koinonia
![]() |
Liam came to Koinonia in 2009 as a student in the first Koinonia Permaculture Design Course. One of the youngest members of the student body, they knew he was out to change the world for the better, and that his future looked bright. Liam was active in urban farming, sustainable technologies, and community organizing. To pass along his light, Koinonia has established a Permaculture Design Course scholarship fund in Liam's name. This fund would be used to offer scholarships to students in future design courses.
Koinonia is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible. Each person who donates will receive a note from Koinonia and a tax-deductible receipt for their donation.
